Lazy Saturday morning

Saturday morning, we had a nice easy start at home.

I made pumpkin coffee cake, which turned out AMAZING, if I do say so myself. (Especially since I made it sans measuring spoons and measuring cups!) I went from this recipe and aimed for the measurements as best as I could.

Yay! It was exactly the fall, comfort food flavor I'd been craving!
We had a breakfast/dinner Skype date with friends.

Who says we can't still have meals with friends?
We filled out our ballots for the U.S. election.

It might look like I'm pinning, but I'm actually voting
(You might notice that we seem to do everything on the floor on the entertainment shelves. Hopefully that will change once our furniture gets here in December!)

Then we took the train up to Chatswood Mall to check it out and find the Dollar King. I'd read online that this store called "Dollar King" was pretty equivalent to an American dollar store but also carried some craft supplies. I have a grand scheme for making some Halloween decorations for the apartment. I was a little dubious about the Dollar King, but we headed out!

Chatswood Mall was a lot like the mall at Bondi Junction, but on a smaller, quieter scale. It was much more our pace. My "buddy" at work told me it was closer for us than going out to Bondi Junction (thanks, Helen!).

The shops outside the mall
I saw a DSW shoe store, which I will DEFINITELY be going back to check out!! We also saw this gem:

It's "NEW!!"
And, it turned out Dollar King actually has some craft supplies! They weren't crazy expensive either.

It's pretty much just the one aisle of craft supplies, so it's no Michaels or JoAnns, but I'm a happy girl!

  1. Thanks for the mention haha, 5 seconds of fame ;)
I'm glad you found Chatswood Mall and found it fruitful! It's like a bazaar full of awesome food and shops, isn't it?
Meanwhile, are you looking for mainly crafty supplies? If you want more of a range, I'd recommend going to a Lincraft or Spotlight store near you! There's a Lincraft ~5mins from the office by the way!
