Bongiorno!

Of all the festivals I've been putting on my calendar, the Italian Festival is the one that I've been most excited about. And T was even excited too! So we headed down to the exotic suburb of Leichardt, which is home to the Italian district of Sydney.

First, though, I captured the way that we stand when we are waiting for a train. Me in the sun, T in the shade. Every. Time.

The summary of us as a couple
About 40 minutes later we arrived in Leichardt. Before we headed to the festival, we ducked into the Italian Forum, which is a cute little courtyard area surrounded by Italian restaurants.

Then we headed down to the street festival. We were both surprised at how big it was - it went on for several blocks. Blocks and blocks of fun food like this!

This was amazingly delicious arancini and cannoli! The cannoli was so good that we went back to get more before we left for the day. It made us super happy and gave us the energy to head through the crowds.

There were other things going on besides eating. Like a cooking demonstration.

And some fun Italian music.

Toby tried to capture some of my famous Italian dance moves.

And then back to food: there was a tent where gnocchi was being made, so we gave that a try, of course!

Happy gnocchi Toby
Oh yeah, there were wine samples too!

We strolled around for a while, stopping for our snacks and our wine samples. We found these fun chairs for sale.

And there was a car show! Toby asks that I include one of his pictures of a car.

All the strolling around was fun. But after too long, I started getting this look:

So we said "ciao" to the festival and headed back home for a Sunday afternoon nap!
