Some time with Aussie animals

On Wednesday, we took the train to Featherdale to check out the animals. This in and of itself was a big accomplishment because Dad used my iPhone app to plan our public transport route. Considering that it took me a few weeks to master this when we first arrived here, this was really impressive!

We started off with a bang in Featherdale by seeing a wallaby with a baby in its pouch. She was a very protective mama so I didn't get a good picture, but you can see the joey's tail a little bit.

Switching gears, we got to touch a snake. There was an offer to hold it, but we all passed.

And, of course, we got to hang out with some 'roos and wallabies.

After our past couple nights of watching the bats, it was especially cool to get to see them up close. Some of them had little babies that hung under the mama's wing.

We also watched the crocodile get fed, as well as the blue penguins (separately of course!). I love these penguins so much!

We took our time and saw almost every animal there, I think.

This bird really liked Dad and followed him around
This snake was getting fed... Gross!
The highlight of the day for me was seeing this koala sleeping with her baby. Too cute for words!

We had a nice picnic lunch in the shade before we left. And then this happened on the train, giving me time to blog!
