Thailand Festival

Luckily it wasn't raining this Saturday, so we went out to the Thailand Festival. It was hot but fun!

First stop was, of course, food! There was lots to choose from.

We ended up with noodles. And they came with umbrellas, so bonus!

We sat down and watched a Thai cooking demonstration while we ate.

Then it was time to walk around and check out all the cool stuff.

There was lots of colorful stuff for sale.

And this amazing fruit carving demonstration.

All of the "flowers" were carved from fruit

We capped off the festivities with a coconut drink! Nothing fancy, just a coconut chopped open, and a straw and spoon stuck in.

The rest of the day was taken up with a soccer game and a late night dinner with our Spanish amigos!

When we leave the soccer game every time, we see the bats leaving their roosting places and heading out for the night. It is super cool, and Toby got it on video last night.

We met up with Esther and Andres and went out for a late dinner, Spanish-style! We checked out a veggie restaurant in Surry Hills, and had a great night! Getting up early the next morning didn't feel great, but it was worth it after such a great day!
