Weekend in wine country - Part II

We started Day 2 with a couple tastings in the morning. (All the good, artsy pictures in the post are courtesy of Esther.)

"One with attitude"

Look at all these people ready for wine!

It was really hot, even by mid-day, so we headed back to the cabin to hydrate and have some lunch. We had a great cheese plate and snacks, and we also snuck in a little siesta! =)

Then we went out for a few more tastings and driving into more of the wine country. We visited a couple of great wineries (definitely found our favorite of the day at Thomas Allen Wines) and saw some amazing countryside.

All the Americans agreed this little shed and plantings reminded us of Tennessee
Inner workings at Tyrells

After a quick run by the grocery store for dinner ingredients, we went to watch the sunset at Esther's favorite vineyard, Audrey Wilkinson.

Esther also promised us that we'd see kangaroos there, and the kangaroos came through!

We closed out the day grilling and enjoying some of our wines from the day. We grilled sausages (and veggie sausages), corn, peppers, and mushrooms, and made 2 salads. Perfect food for a hot summer day in the Hunter Valley!

It was a fabulous weekend, with fabulous food, wine, and friends! We feel very lucky to have had it with people that we love.
