We were all pretty wiped after our whirlwind three days in Copenhagen. So it was a slow start to the day on Thursday. We had a nice smörgås breakfast and did some planning for our upcoming Stockholm trip.
Look at all these planners! |
Toby and Chris biked to the grocery store to get some supplies for our traveling day, while Michelle and I walked Charlie. Off on their own, Toby and Chris decided to make some food-in-a-tube purchases, which they tried as soon as they got back. They got taco flavored cheese and mushroom flavored cheese, and we squeezed them onto crackers. I have to admit, it wasn't terrible!
Then Michelle and I headed off for an afternoon in Malmö. I had really wanted to see the Turning Torso tower and the Öresund Bridge when were there the other day, but we ran out of time. So Michelle took me while the boys held down the fort at home.
After we walked by the tower, we walked out through some apartments toward the sea.

And, since we were in Malmö without the boys, Michelle and I fit in a bit of shopping!
Then, it was off to meet the fellas for fancy dinner #2. This one was recommended to us by a couple people, including one in Sydney, so we were excited to try it. It was at Bloom in the Park, which, amazingly enough, was located in a park! We walked around for a few minutes before dinner.
Perfect sunset time! |
Then it was eating time! If dinner the night before at Relae was an experience, this dinner was an adventure. The concept of Bloom is that the server doesn't tell you what you are eating. The chef prepares courses for you, and then the server presents it. The idea is that you won't have preconceptions about the food, so you'll enjoy it more and evaluate the flavors more than you would otherwise.
All of the food was beautifully presented. Most of it had an outdoor theme, like starters served on sticks in a bed of moss or crackers on a tree branch.
Some of the food was over the top cool. Like the cotton candy tree we got for dessert and the dry ice palate cleansers.
I never in my life have been more happy to be a vegetarian. Chris and Michelle's courses included snail, heart, and testicle. We just had weird things like walnuts, pumpkin, and beets. But we all were invited to eat some moss during the starter course - which we did, because we're troopers!
All things being equal, we all agreed at the end of the meal we'd rather have Taco Bell back home. But we also agreed we were super happy we had the experience and had no regrets about it!
