Visitors from a wintery land

On Saturday, our besties from the States (now residents of Sweden) arrived in Sydney! Sydney put its best foot forward and gave us a warm, sunny, breezy day. For people who literally haven't seen the sun in 2 weeks, it was pretty much the best welcome they could ask for!

We did A LOT on Saturday. We started out with a picnic lunch down by the bridge. This gave us lots of time to catch up on all the Friday night dinner conversations we've missed over the past year!

After a leisurely lunch, we headed into the city for a couple quick errands.

We hit the high points in the CBD: we checked out the Christmas tree at Martin Place and walked through the Pitt Street shopping area. To say that it was crowded would be an understatement! Everyone was out doing last-minute shopping, and there were tons of buskers out doing their best performances. It was super lively with lots to see!

We also went into David Jones and the QVB in search of some hair gel. Even though we were on a quest, it was a nice quick tour of the highlights of CBD shopping, so Chris & Michelle can always go back for more.

When T couldn't stand the crowds anymore, we headed down to Darling Harbour to catch the ferry. By this point, the jet lag was starting to catch up to people, so the ferry ride was perfect.

A little dinner with some Swedish chocolates to top it off, and we were all down for the count! But it felt like the world was right again, the four of us having dinner and wine together!
