Beach day in Manly

There was no time to let grass grow under our feet when we got back to Sydney. There were but four short days before Holly left, so we were planning to make the most of them.

Monday was a beautiful day, so we decided to go up to Manly for some paddleboarding and snorkeling. The best part about going to Manly is the lovely ferry riding: once over to Circular Quay and then the big ferry out to Manly.

We decided to do paddleboarding first before the wind really got up. It was a good decision, because by the time we got out on the water, it was already so windy that we couldn't go too far out in the harbour. And going out the little bit that we did was hard going! So by the time we had made a few passes through the boats and checking out the rocks, we were ready to chill out on the beach.

Lots of people enjoying the sunshine

After a very vacation-y lunch that included a Bellini, we walked over to Shelly Beach so I could try out my new snorkel set I got for Christmas. The wind was really up by the time we got to the beach! And there were quite a few other people there with the same idea.

Even though it was crowded, it was still a great beach day! There were too many snorkelers to stay in very long, but my new gear was super! And I saw some cool fish swimming around, which made it so worth it.

We headed home in time to make some pizza for dinner and the watch the sun set in the harbour. Not a bad day!
